Mentorship
Any WoVO member can become a mentor. We all come from various professional backgrounds (like accounting, IT, broadcasting, engineering, marketing, business, translation, teaching, performance, etc.) and we can lend a helping hand to our fellow WoVO members. Our organization’s biggest strength is our members. Whether you have 1 year or 30 years experience in the business, you can help others. We are proud to welcome members from various parts of the world, and encourage respectful discussion and exchanges, which help maintain ethical business standards and technical standards in our industry. This dialog is how members support other members.
Become a Mentor
WoVO’s mentoring program is a wonderful way to connect with fellow WoVO members to ask a technical, business, or performance question, or simply to talk to a fellow VO for a sanity check when things go a little haywire in your business. The “mentor” is the person offering the help, and the mentee” is the one receiving the help.
As a mentee, you can build a rapport with a mentor who knows about an area that you would like to develop in your business. Alternatively, if you are a mentor in one area, you can also become a mentee in another area by contacting a member on the mentor list. It can either be a one-time communication or a long-standing relationship.

Your time commitment as a mentor is as much or as little as you like. Some mentors offer 30 minutes a month of their free time to help a mentee, while others offer more. Some mentors are helping multiple mentees at a time, on an individual basis. The only thing we request is that there is no upselling of services from the mentor to the mentee following their session.
Once you become a mentor, you can stay on as long as you like. There is, however, such a thing as mentor fatigue; if you think it’s not working for you anymore, you are welcome to take a break and temporarily remove your mentor profile from our website. You can come back when the time is right for you.
